The Department of Veterans Affairs was proud to announce Wednesday, January 25 that a "VA for Vets" Hiring Fair will be added to the National Veteran Small Business Conference and Expo in Detroit June 26-29, 2012. The Detroit Hiring Fair builds upon VA's January success in Washington at which a partnership of federal agencies and private industry attracted over 4,100 Veterans and resulted in over 2,600 on-the-spot interviews and more than 500 tentative job offers.

Due to this exciting addition, opening of registration for the conference will be delayed in order to provide a seamless registration process for attendees. It is our goal to make registration as user friendly as possible and including the "VA for Vets" Hiring Fair in registration on day one will ensure all attendees are aware of the addition so that they may register.

WHY ATTEND

As the premier annual event for Veteran businesses, attending the conference will give you the opportunity to:

  • Enable small to large businesses to engage with decision makers from the federal government.
  • Facilitate networking among small businesses, large contractors, federal representatives and Veterans by using the online networking portal, VetGovPartner.
  • Provide effective sessions for training and business requirement to all businesses – startups, small businesses and large businesses – to take success to the next level.
  • Offer conference attendees and local area Veterans an opportunity to become informed and/or enroll in Veteran benefits at the Veteran Open House.

Fees include participation in all activities, education sessions, business requirement sessions, VetGovPartner, functions, access to Veteran Open House, and access to all three days of the Exhibit Hall. Fees also include all of the food and beverage provided at the conference to include: (2) receptions, (3) breakfasts and (3) Keynote Speaker Luncheons. It also includes all conference collateral materials that attendees will receive upon conference check-in.

The conference is open to both Government and Non-Government Personnel.


Please note that the National Veteran Small Business Conference and Expo are managed by Halfaker and Associates, LLC (Halfaker) which is independent of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Halfaker is permitted to charge registration and other fees pursuant to a no-cost contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs, under which Halfaker provides conference planning services with no financial obligation to VA.
