Mr. Ramos was appointed by President
George W. Bush to serve as the
Director of the Department of Defense
Office of Small Business and began his
duty shortly after September 11, 2001.
In that capacity he serves as the
principal small business policy advisor
to the Secretary of Defense.
During his tenure, Mr. Ramos’s policies and program initiatives have
resulted in record DoD small business acquisitions for Fiscal Year
2004 amounting to $42 billion dollars in prime contract awards.
Mr. Ramos was also appointed by President George H.W. Bush in
1989 to serve in the U.S. Small Business Administration as the
Associate Deputy Administrator for Management and Administration
and as the Assistant Deputy Administrator for Minority Small
Business Certification and Capital Development.
